Crestview is home to Brittany and me. We both attended the Baptist University of Florida where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Missions and Brittany received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. While attending BUF in 2017, I took a class on Church Planting and the Lord gripped my heart for it. The desire has only grown since.
Brittany and I got married in 2016, and God immediately placed foster care and adoption on our hearts, and used that desire to grow our family. We were boldly living as foster parents at the age of 22 while still living on our college campus! We are now the parents of three amazing children, Jayson (8), Everett (4), and Ashley (3).
In 2020, the Lord led us to Parkview Baptist Church in Lake City, Fl where I have had the privilege of serving as the Student Pastor. My heart for getting the gospel to the nations led me to also take on the role of leading Missions at Parkview. As a couple, the Lord has placed a burden on our hearts for missions to unreached people groups and unreached places. We desire to plant a church that goes to the unreached.
Crestview recently ranked in the top 20 fastest growing cities in America. In 2020 the population had almost a 30% increase over a 10-year period. Here are a couple key reasons for that growth:
Eglin Air Force Base, the largest Air Force base in the world, is located 20 minutes from Crestview.
Crestview is only 35 minutes from the most beautiful beaches in Florida.
People have been moving to Florida more than any other state over the last several years, and Crestview is a relatively inexpensive place to live while still being close enough to the big cities.
Here are four reasons for a new church start in Crestview:
There is a need for more churches that preach the gospel, make disciples, and plant churches. If there was 1 gospel preaching church for every 400 residents, Crestview would need 77 churches. There are simply not enough churches to meet the need.
The population is continuing to increase creating a sustainable growth.
Rich gospel community is a gift from God to be enjoyed by all people.
All throughout the panhandle are people who don’t know Christ and God deserves the praise from rural northwest Florida.
